Synopsis

The museum opened in 1972. It is located in Loreto’s fort in the city of Puebla and it was built in 18th century. In this space you will find aspects related to the history of Mexico since Liberals triumph, the creation of Liberal Reforms, the instauration of the brief second Mexican Emperor, Maximiliano, and the triumph of the Republic. It has an accent on the French Intervention and the battle that was fought in the museum’s site, the famous Battle of Puebla on May the 5th. The collection gathers historical objects from the 19th century: weapons, flags, documents, oil painting and military outfits from the historic period that goes from the beginning of Independence to the instauration of the Republic.
