Admitance and Services

Visiting hours: Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00. Admission fee $41 MXP. Children under 13, students, teachers and senior citizens presenting a valid I.D. do not pay. Free admission on Sunday. There is a fee if you are willing to shoot with a videocamera. Guided tours, auditorium, cultural activities, book and gift shop, student groups and Morelos haciendas, convents and archaeological zone tours by appointment.


“Cuauhnahuac” Regional Museum opened in 1974, in the 16th century building that used to be Hernan Cortes dwelling house. This colonial monument was built right on the place where Tlahuica palace was. The regional development, the first agriculture to the Tlahuica and other Prehispanic cultures that inhabited the Valley of Cuauhnahuac; the contact between European and American cultures, the military and religious conquer, the Independent struggle and aspects of contemporary Morelos State, like cane industry, are the themes of this museum.
