Synopsis
The San Ignacio Museum of Rupestrian Paintings opened in 1994, in a historical construction from the 18th century that served as religious mission, fortress and public granary, known as El Teatro. It is located in Downtown area. The art, tools, cooking items, and everyday life of the first settlers, as well as the geographical and ecological environment are represented in this museum. There are reproductions of rock paintings and caves, as well as original objects found by INAH researchers at Sierra de San Francisco.
